Byredo -Bibliothèque- Scented Candle
The very special and incomparable scent of old libraries... - it is the smell of freshly printed paper and glue; musty, with yellowed and brittle pages. The knowledge and the history of mankind - Tales and legends and poems by lovers from different countries and eras - all captured on patient paper. It is the inexhaustible legacy of those who have gone before us. A place that seems to defy the continuing passage of time.
The fragrance
Mild, sweet flavors of velvety and fruity peach and sweet plum are filling the air, followed by a dry, flowery bouquet of peonies and violets - a nostalgic scent with a slight hint of mold. In the base a dark patchouli comes up and and pervades the aroma of leather and vanilla. Memories of a favorite chair and an antique table are conjured up, stacked on the leather-bound books with worn, yellowish sheets discolored by time.
