An imaginative homage to Paris
The Inspiration
A tribute to Paris? For diptyquechypre came to mind - only a legendary chord with a hundred facets can pay tribute to the city with the hundred faces.
The chypre accord was created in 1917 by François Coty and was so successful that an entire fragrance family was named after it. An "abstract", enigmatic perfume that embodies the slightly distanced elegance associated with the "city of lights" and its unique flair. Olivier Pescheux, virtuoso perfumer and loyal companion of the brand, lets the chypre shine in the light of the 21st century by interpreting this legendary chord as follows:
The Composition
As a prelude, the scintillating, green bergamot gives a lively and long-lasting freshness, followed by a lush bouquet of roses. A captivating chord made up of three extracts of the Damascene Rose (Essence, Absolue, Concentrate), making the different facets of this rose glow in a breathtaking way - youthfully fresh, but also sensual and expressive. In place of oakmoss - a classic ingredient of chypre fragrances - the perfumer uses patchouli. A patchouli "coeur" - which makes the fragrance appear lighter than a traditional patchouli. Spices are a characteristic ingredient of diptyque fragrances - but in a chypre fragrance they are very unexpected. Pink pepper is the olfactory surprise and gives the eau de parfum a sparkling entry and a modern character.
The Design
To illustrate Eau Capitale, diptyque and Pierre Marie found inspiration in Parisian architecture and the emblematic monuments of Art Nouveau. The Eiffel Tower, roses, a curved calligraphy, a peacock beating a wheel, swirls, intertwined lines. Just like Paris, Eau Capitale is a feast for the senses!
The intricate rose pattern is a limited edition and thus for a short time decorates the packaging of the collection's fragrance and the scented candles.
