An ode to the pleasures of living life according to one's own rules, Le Sillage Blanc is a pared-down, crisp green leather chypre with echoes of perfumery's ultimate bad girl, Bandit by Robert Piguet. Le Sillage Blanc captures the mood of a modern Bandit girl very cleverly - the leather is as whip dry as its inspiration, but it divests itself of the heavy animalics that weighed Bandit down. There is musk, but it is the cool, grey fruit tones of the musk mallow (ambrette seed) that plays the lead role here, imbuing the leather with a fuzzy, skin-like texture that is ultimately very sensual.Le Sillage Blanc rebuilds a leather note out of tarry neroli and orange blossom extracts, greening it up with a cut-grass galbanum resin and bitter artemisia. Bright and smooth, this leather is bound to be a modern classic of its time. It doesn't offend, but it makes a statement.
