Eight & Bob - Book Edition
This is a story about a very special friendship between two men. In 1937, an American student drives along the French coast and meets the perfumer Albert Fouquet. The young and vain man is charmed by the fragrance that Albert was wearing that he just had to wear it himself. As both men really liked each other, this was the beginning of a great and extraordinairy fragrance story. Albert has been convinced to hand his American friend an untitled bottle of the scent, with a small letter saying "in this bottle you will find that hint of French Glamour that is missing in your American way."
Back in the USA, the fragrance worn by the young man made a big story - we all know him as John F.K.. Soon there were more bottles to order: "Eight bottles please and one for Bob". But soon the upcoming World War II made it impossible to ship perfume from France to America. So Fouquet started to hide his fragrances in books. As JKF, also Albert Fouquet has left us in very young years - he had a deadly car crash near Biarritz in 1939. Decades have passed until this once so important fragrance has returned to the world - Mr. Fouquet's butler has played an important role in this.
