Jean Louis SCHERRER
Scherrer signature fragrance was launched in the year 1979. The chypre fragrance designed exclusively for women became a classic and spurred on its designer to produce a series of perfumes for use by both men and women.
Jean Louis Scherrer was a popular French couturier with his designs being favored by the rich and the glamorous. He did a brief stint at Christian Dior House, where he worked with Yves Saint Laurent. Both later went on to establish their own fashion houses and became popular in the 1960s. Scherrer remained as chief designer till he was removed when the brand was sold in 1992.
The brand stopped fashion production in the year 2007, but still remains active as a brand for licensed products, which include fragrances. With 9 different perfumes, the Scherrer fragrances have been made in association with perfumers like Marie- Aude Couture-Bluche, Raphael Haury, Nathalie Lorson and Nathalie Feisthauer. The Scherrer fragrance launched first in 1979 is a floral aldehyde fragrance designed for women.
The top notes of the fragrance include violet, aldehydes, green notes, hyacinth and cassia. The middle notes contain carnation, gardenia, tuberose, jasmine, orris root and rose. The base notes contain amber, sandalwood, musk, cedar, vetiver, civet, vanilla and oak moss.
