Santa Eulalia - Nubes
If the clouds over Barcelona had a scent, what would it be? That's the fascinating question that Santa Eulalia's Nube seeks to answer, in scent form. Inspired by the bright blue Mediterranean sky over a Barcelona cityscape on a summer's evening, dotted with fluffy white clouds, Nubes is much more than a perfume - it's a memory, a sigh, an enchantment. Nubes takes us on an airborne journey along the coast, from the citrus groves lining the hills right up to Barceloneta, to the sea breezes washing in from the sea and to the rich bounty of fruit and flowers offered in the city's bustling markets.
Upon application, a warm summer breeze ripe with bergamot and oranges drifts into our consciousness, instantly relaxing and reviving our weary spirit. Both fresh and sweet, this citrus accord is joined by a heart of sultry jasmine and roses, given a juicy roundness by a ripe peach note and a sharp green freshness by green tea, geranium, and muguet. The florals are rich but they are also delightfully astringent, peppery with freesia, black pepper, and elemi resin, creating a deeply aromatic character that reminds us of the wild macquis surrounding Barcelona in its rolling hills and plains. The warmth of the Mediterranean evening is fulfilled in the base with a wonderfully musky, sweet amber and woods finish that seals it all up with a kiss.
