The persistent prospector makes a find. Having discovered a nutrient-rich cargo, the scarab returns home. Face down and guided by the sun, he hurls the densely packed dung backwards into a cavern lined with gloomy spheres. Underground, he digs a tunnel into the sphere to deposit a precious egg. Over time, the larva hatches and feeds until it emerges fully formed and instinct drives it to take the same dusty path to repeat the cycle.
