Thameen London - Sovereign Collection - Sceptre
A symbol of the monarch's secular power, the Sovereign's Sceptre of the British Crown Jewels combines exquisite gemstones beneath a diamond-studded cross. Originally made in 1661, the three-part gold staff, a good 92 cm long, has been supplemented over the years with further precious stones. In 1911, the Cullinan 1, also called the Great Star of Africa, which had been found only a few years earlier, was added to the Soverign's Sceptre and today forms the centrepiece of the sceptre as the largest clear diamond in the world, surrounded by numerous other diamonds, emeralds, rubies, spinels, sapphires and a faceted amethyst. Thameen draws on the symbolism of this unique ruler's symbol to make a bold, distinctive creation a reality with Sceptre, which renders the precious splendour of the sceptre in fragrance and composes it around the aroma of precious Somali myrrh.
The fragrance:
Thameen's Sovereign Collection is considered an olfactory homage to selected treasures of the British Crown Jewels, shaping each fragrance around the central sound of a select raw material. In keeping with Thameen's credo, only the highest-quality components come together to create a fragrance whose sounds touch the senses with incomparable elegance. A spicy accord of coriander, Madagascan cloves and pink pepper opens the hypnotic sounds of Sceptre. Juicy, ripe peach alongside wisteria, ylang ylang and an earthy patchouli note form its intense centre, its aromas unfolding richly over a present base formed of amber, benzoin and sumptuous Somali myrrh.
