The year 1905 changed the world of perfumery. Until then, perfumes were sold in simple bottles to be then transferred into precious, handcrafted and therefore expensive flacons. However, the perfumer François Coty was convinced that every single one of his perfumes has deserved "a perfect bottle of beautiful simplicity and impeccable taste."
Initially René Lalique designed labels and caps for François Coty's perfumes. Then he developed a method to produce luxury glassware in large quantities for a reasonable price. François Coty's vision became reality. One small step for mankind - but one giant leap for modern perfumery ...
THE FRAGRANCE
René Lalique and François Coty: Terres Aromatiques is a tribute to the creative alliance of these two visionaries of their era. The fragrance is inspired by Coty's mythical chypre fragrance that the Corsican-born perfumer once created from Mediterranean ingredients.
Terres Aromatiques celebrates two of the most prominent aromatic herbs of southern France: thyme and lavender. A perky pineapple and the green freshness of cardamom build a sunny triad along with a bright yellow lemon - while the freesia decorates the heart of the fragrance with an impression of orange blossom.
