Juliette has a Gun

Juliette has a Gun: Perfume Brand Portrait

Inspired by Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet”, young creator Romano Ricci (coming from a family with a legendary tradition in perfume-creating) joined forces with perfumer Francis Kurkdjian (also well-known as the creator of several other fragrances by Dior, Narciso Rodriguez, Acqua di Parma, Guerlain, and Jean Paul Gaultier) and designer Sylvie de France, who gave the flacons of “Juliette has a Gun” their characteristic outfit, to launch a new brand of luxury perfumes – for “girls and women only”. At the beginning of the brand each of the fragrances has been based on an essence of roses, and the rose is as well a perfect symbol of the modern Juliette: On the one hand with the fragility of its tender, sweet scenting flower – and, on the other hand, with the sharpness of its thorns, knowing very well how to assert and how to defend themselves…

Nowadays, Juliette Has a Gun has become a brand with a big following. Let's turn the page back and see where this iconic name got its start. The man behind the perfume is Romano Ricci. His path to success should come as no surprise, especially since he grew up surrounded by fragrance and fashion.

As he got older, he decided to forego the traditional school route and teach himself the tools of the trade. He worked at a perfumery for seven years and then decided to build his own empire. Ricci has an impressive list of people he's worked with, including other perfume makers like Pierre Bourdon and Isabelle Maillebiau.

Juliette Has a Gun launched in 2006; this was a brand focused on women that offered a niche alternative to the overwhelming competing perfumes. Romano Ricci describes it as an analogy for fragrance as a weapon for seduction.

Since 2006, the brand has impressed people around the world. Ricci even received the prestigious French Fragrance Foundation's "Special Prize of the Board" for excellence in the perfume industry. Juliette Has a Gun continuously releases perfumes and other products that keep the loyal fans happy while also gathering new perfume enthusiasts.

Juliette Has a Gun Perfumes

As far as the products themselves? Well, there aren't only perfumes sold by this brand. There are also candles, room spray, shower cream, and all kinds of similar items. Since Juliette Has a Gun is best known for its perfumes, let's dive into that.

Ironically, one of their most iconic scents is 'Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume'. If you've ever owned this, you know about the strange lack of ingredients and the sort of difficult-to-describe scent. The main component of Not a Perfume is Cetalox (sometimes called Ambroxan).

Ambroxan is a common component of fragrances. It's long-lasting and has a musky/woody scent. The appeal is that it isn't overwhelming; it's quite a gentle ingredient that embraces your natural scent rather than overwhelms you with a more pungent smell.

If you're used to fragrances that make their scent known, it might be scary to try something so subtle, but that's the allure- the intimacy component. There's a clean scent that almost requires close proximity to take it in; that's the seduction aspect that Romano Ricci emphasized.

There are plenty of Juliette Has a Gun perfume for you to try, each with its captivating scent. There's 'Musc Invisible,' described as smelling dreamy and nostalgic, like your favorite pair of old jeans. Then there's 'Lipstick Fever', which has a floral and woody scent, perfect for date nights.

The truth is, there's a Juliette Has a Gun scent for everybody. You can satisfy your sweet tooth with the sweeter fragrances, explore the less conventional musky scents or stick to an intriguing bare minimum. Regardless of your choice, you're sure to have people ask you, 'where'd you get your perfume?'

Juliette Has a Gun Luxury Collection

Not only does Juliette Has a Gun have its impressive original scents, but it also has a luxury collection.

These came about in 2013 when Romano Ricci decided it was time to switch things up. There are currently seven fragrances.

The difference? It takes the original Juliette up a gear, from the streets like a model to a lavish penthouse in Miami. Many of these luxury fragrances focus on tuberose, a perennial plant that is often used as a note in other perfumes.

Of course, this is Ricci, so it's not going to be just like the other fragrances. There are blends of marzipan, Guaiac wood, sandalwood, all sorts of scent spectacles. Each one is suited for someone who is wholly an individual, ready to make a statement with their signature scent.

It's not easy finding the right perfumes. There might be days when you're at a store, switching between smelling samples and coffee beans - that's no way to live. If you're looking for a new fragrance to put an end to your search, try Romano Ricci's Juliette Has a Gun brand.

Not only are there several options for you to try, but there are products like hand lotion and candles as well. Everything was thought of, and it all smells delicious. Get ready for the incoming flood of compliments.
