Juliette Has a Gun - Luxury Collection - Metal Chypré
Metal Chypré? The meaning of the perfume's name makes sense if you know that the word copper (cuprum in Latin) has the same origin as the name of the island of Cyprus - and thus the fragrance category "Chypré". No mystery here as to why the word copper, since traces of the precious red mineral were found on the island as far back as 7,000 years ago. Quick to exploit this abundant natural resource, Cyprus is also known as the land of a thousand mines.
The juice is a beautiful coppery color and its cap and lettering are both in a shimmering rose gold, thus honoring the origins of the fragrance, copper.
Metal Chypré is a bold reinterpretation of the classic chypre accord in perfumery, which revolves around the use of three key materials, namely bergamot, labdanum, and oakmoss. In Metal Chypré, the perfumer has flushed the chypre structure with dry, flinty patchouli, rooty iris, and a core of metallic notes that seem to reflect light off the surface of the scent. It is fresh, it is dry, it is metallic - and above all, it is exciting. Old forms made into futuristic shapes for our pleasure.
