Jusbox Perfumes - Classical Collection - Spring Dance
"The lights go out and a triumphal arch opens majestically. Our eyes close and the subtle but clear sounds take us into an open, green landscape. A riot of colourful flowers fills the air. Butterflies, birds and bees swirl joyfully in an endless dance."
- V-Monkeys 1980
Spring is the first of the four compositions in "The Four Seasons". This unprecedented masterpiece is one of the earliest and most detailed examples of what later came to be called programme music and was penned by the Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi, who created the piece around 1730. The extraordinary beauty of "Spring" is based on the composer's masterful ability to reproduce the sounds of nature with notes and instruments: The meadows are covered with colourful flowers, the delicate leaves of the trees and the soft blades of grass move happily in the wind, and the birds sing as they glide through the air. Nature awakens and shows itself majestically: a feeling of joy, happiness and pleasant lightness nourishes the soul.
For "Spring Dance", perfumer Dominique Ropion has created an olfactory melody inspired by the high and low notes of Vivaldi's unique composition. Here, the triumphal arch in the overture becomes a fresh and sparkling trail of grapefruit and rosemary Tunisia LMR: both represent a light breeze and the strong scent of the fields. An intoxicating heart expresses the awakening of nature: Jasmine Sambac Absulue LMR and Honeysuckle Accord, embody the explosion of fresh flowers saturating the air. Amber and musk are the base notes that embody a sense of comfort, well-being and balance.
