NightRopion got into perfumery at a very early age. After many summer jobs at Roure, he joined the company’s school of perfumery in Grasse where he met Jean-Louis Sieuzac and Pierre Bourdon. He became a perfumer at Roure and his first success came with Ysatis for Givenchy in 1984. After Roure, Florasynth and Dragoco, Ropion joined the IFF Fine Fragrance team in 2000 in Paris. Ropion often starts with a central theme and one raw material and works on the contours, the volume and its contrasts like a sculptor. He received the International Perfume Award in 2008, was appointed « Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres » in 2012, and received the Fragrance.
Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. Among his famous perfumes you can find; Alien Thierry Mugler, La Vie est Belle Lancôme, Lady Million Paco Rabanne, Amor Amor Cacharel, Flowerbomb Viktor&Rolf, Dune Christian Dior and many others for Frédéric Malle, Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy.
