Parfums de Marly - Darley
A truly prominent horse from the history of horse breeding was the inspiration for the creation of this perfume: Darley Arabian is one of three stallions from which the breed of English thoroughbred is descending. The name of the stallion goes back to Thomas Darley. In 1704 he acquired the legendary stallion as a gift for his brother in Aleppo, Syria - and shipped it to the English country estate Aldby Park...
The fragrance takes us on a swashbuckling ride, which begins with a veritable outbreak of power: Citric accents of lemon and bergamot are the prelude, flanked by green mint. Somewhat subdued and cool, a rose leads to an orange blossom and a furious triad characterized by green spiciness: Fine rosemary explodes together with herbaceous lavender and a wonderfully sharp cinnamon!
Both spicy and fresh as well as maritime, the fragrant racehorse Darley rides into an olfactory sunset of sandalwood and guaiac wood, patchouli, ambergris and tonka bean.
