Santa Eulalia - Aprilis
Rosa Aprilis is dedicated to the patron saint of Catalonia - the Holy Virgin "Mare de Déu de Montserrat." In Catalan culture, on the 23rd of April, which is Saint George's feast day, the faithful are required to give their loved ones a rose. This act is said to commemorate the heroic deed of Ritter Georg, who slew a feared dragon in a glorious battle and afterwards handed a rose to the princess whom he had just saved from a terrible fate. With Rosa Aprilis, Santa Eulalia celebrates the joyful significance of the rose starting off with a bright mélange of fresh bergamot and aromatic anise in the top notes. The heart blossoms with a bouquet of several different roses with varying levels of intensity, lushness, spice, and honey, all resting on a bed of fragrant, dusty iris. Aromatic moss and woody notes lend the fragrance a rich, textured finish that matches the depth of history implied in the name of the fragrance.
