Teresa Helbig - Old Money
The latest from the revered Spanish fashion designer Teresa Helbig is the wonderful Old Money, named for her series of luxe clothing collections that hint at old school glamor, old money, and pure luxury. The designer herself sums up the concept of old money thus: ""Aristocracy, blue blood, family names, heritage, palisander bookcases, velvet armchairs...an unwavering respect for values and tradition. A world fading away little by little. Old Money, an essence of nobility; sophisticated, subtle and rather decadent."
The fragrance embodies the concept of old money to a T. Opening with a rich, mouthwatering accord of green cardamom, nutmeg, and baked plums, the tone is immediately opulent, like a length of purple and ochre velvet. The rich, spicy fruit theme is carried through to the dulcet heart of figs, violets, and fresh, dewy muguet, giving the wearer the intoxicating experience of a scent that is simultaneously caramelized and refreshing. The green fruity floral sweetness of the heart is met in the base by vetiver, patchouli, and Spanish labdanum, which gives the scent an earthy, chocolatey and leathery finish.
