Trudon - Mary - Great Candle
The extraordinary life of the writer Mary Shelley inspired Trudon to create a striking, fragrant tribute. Known for her work Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus, published at the age of nineteen, Mary Shelley's life story by no means conforms to the rigid regimen of her era. A child of Romanticism, she questions and criticises, marries for love and travels the world to turn her back - at least temporarily - on what she sees as a self-righteous English society. She leads a life whose leitmotif is self-chosen adventure. With Mary, Trudon creates a limited-edition fragrance that conveys the audacity of its namesake as well as the melancholy of her time and the spirit of romanticism.
The fragrance:
Mary's composition unfolds as a soft woody accord, sugesstive and of attractive depth. It is the spicy-sweet sounds of immortelle nestled in a blossoming tuberose alongside aniseed and cardamom with which Trudon's fragrance opens. The unconventional combination of its notes describes Mary's wide journeys with luminous depth and forms the transition to an intoxicatingly attractive centre. In the encounter of cistus labdanum, cedar, guaiac and cashmere wood, its richly interwoven web of resinous nuances emerges with noble woody notes. Luminous amber sparkles alongside an enchanted whiff of incense, accompanied by patchouli and fine earthy moss notes, underscore the complex appearance of this balanced composition. Here we find the equivalent of an unusual heroine who dedicates herself to adventure and summons the courage to travel her own path metaphorically, but also actually. In a limited edition, Mary appears in Classic (270g) and Great (2.8kg) sizes in a handcrafted matte black vessel adorned with Trudon's golden relief.
