Alexandria II is inspired by the exoticism of incense rituals in the old city of Alexandria, the city founded by Alexander in Egypt to rival the glories of the Roman Empire and her capital, Rome. Central to the scent is the trail of smoky, mysterious wood and leather left by the very real Cambodian oud oil used in the composition. Dancing around the oud like Salomé and the seven veils are a panoply of fresh, crisp notes such as a crisp green apple, sunny lavender, dewy muguet petals, and a bright, pure rose, notes which infuse the darker oud notes with pleasing hints of sunshine and air.

Everything is in perfect balance here - for the oud-wary, there is no need to be afraid, as this is a beautifully soft, spicy rendition of the rose-oud theme.
