Lalique - Encre Noire à l'Extrême
The story of the fascinating fragrance legend Encre Noire continues uninterrupted with an even deeper exploration of one of the most masculine of all notes ever - vetiver.
The Fragrance
Encre Noire à l'Extrême skillfully oscillates between a radiant prelude and a dark, woody, elegant dry-down. With powerful, seductive accords and a subtle play on exciting contrasts, the perfume explores the many facets of masculinity. The composition of the perfume relies on the balance between two outstanding vetiver oils, namely Haitian vetiver and Java vetiver. The opening notes of bergamot, cypress, and elemi resin set the stage with a bright woody accent and an aromatic, citrusy freshness that allows the stunning properties of both vetiver oils to shine, like emeralds nestled in ochre velvet. The dark woodiness of the palette here is countered in the heart by a silvery, elegant iris and smoky incense resins. The base is an opulent pleasure, wherein creamy yet dusty sandalwood hugs velvety patchouli, and is drizzled with a finely-calibrated touch of balsamic, vanillic benzoin.
