Atkinsons 1799 - Contemporary Collection - Pirates Grand Reserve
A whole world of adventure and derring-do is captured in Atkinsons new release for 2017, Pirate's Grand Reserve. A bold, captivating perfume, it features the deep, dark rum beloved of any pirate, buccaneer, brigand, or seafaring adventurer. But not just any rum note. This rum is dark and treacled, poured generously over barrels of sticky black vanilla pods, rich dark chocolate, and sweetly almondy heliotrope, giving you a 360° scent experience that you can almost taste. This is a scent whose richness draws around you like a fur cloak when the wind is bitingly cold.
Pirate's Grand Reserve is not entirely gourmand, however. Modeled after the pursuits of gentleman pirate Sir Francis Drake, who was Queen Elizabeth I's most trusted explorer and procurer, the woody structure of the scent pays tribute to the noble toil of seafaring men and women of the time. The basenotes growl with smokey cedar, and a heart of geranium, clary sage, broom, and cardamom nods at the exotic spices and herbs Sir Drake carried back with him in the ship's hold. Velvety moss, patchouli, and musk bed the scent down in a softly green bed. Rich with booze, chocolate, cream, white florals, spice, woods, and moss, Pirate's Grand Reserve is as vertiginous an experience as walking the plank.
