Diptyque - L'Eau Papier
The beginning of the artistic process is marked by the white sheet of paper, to which all paths are open. Its first contact with colour marks the turning point from which words or images develop, abstracts, crafts, art or trivia. At the beginning, however, there is always only the untouched sheet. Perfumer Alix Waline takes up the significance of this medium for Diptyque and creates an abstract fragrance sound as a memorable synaesthetic experience. L'Eau Papier hints at the smooth surface and shapes the melange of scents of leaf and ink, a first brushstroke and the process of creating a work into faceted building blocks of this elegantly composed fragrance. L'Eau Papier pays homage to the graphic expression that marks the beginning of every Diptyque creation, unfolding as an olfactory expression of permanence into a play of textures surrounded by light and shadow.
The fragrance
Fine brushstrokes, applied wetly to what was just white paper, seem to rise from Diptyque's L'Eau Papier. Its unique olfactory equivalent is a cereal accord of toasted sesame alongside the powdery warm floral sounds of yellow mimosa. Sensual white musk notes, whose sweetness unfolds and transforms individually in connection with the skin, shape L'Eau Papiers unique character. Dressed in the classically designed bottle of the house of Diptyque and provided with an emblem wetted with ink, L'Eau Papier presents itself as a fragrance designed with perfect aesthetics.
