Memo Paris - Les Echappées - Shams Oud
Shams means "sun" in Arabic. Legend has it that the Persian god Mithras brings daybreak with his golden, star-studded carriage, his muscular horses driving sunlight all over the sullen morning sky. This fragrance is also a light-bringer. Oud is normally dusty, dark, and leathery. Here it sings with aromatic ginger, the bright, citrusy edge of this root lifting the oud accord upwards into the golden daylight. Pepper and saffron keeps the oud buoyant and lively - this is a fragrance that sizzles with brightness and zest. In the base, a cinnamon-flecked tolu balsam and tonka bean merge to create a textured, creamy backdrop with a hint of rugged leaves and leather.
Notes: pepper, rose, ginger, saffron, Nagarmotha, cashmeran, tonka bean, tolu balsam, styrax, oud accord, labdanum
