Im Jahre 1891 brach ein verheerendes Feuer in einem Barbershop in der Curling Bros. in Westlake, N.Y. aus. Das Feuer tobte, bis der Laden völlig niedergebrannt war. Auch die Tiegel, Flaschen und Tonics mit Minze, Limette, Vanille und Lavendel verbrannten, bis auf einen halb vollen Flakon. In ihm verschmolzen die Duftnoten und die Gerüche des Feuers zu einem grandiosen neuen Duft.
