Diptyque - Eau de Minthé
A reinterpretation of the emblematic fougère model.
In Greek mythology, fragrances often arise from the combination of romantic poetry and the concept of metamorphosis. Thus, in Greek lore, mint allegedly owes its unmistakable fragrance to the nymph Minthé, who was transformed by Hades, god of the underworld, into this aromatic plant.
Inspired by this myth, Eau de Minthé creates a minty reinterpretation of the classic barbershop fougère, reminiscent of the steamy, classic fern-like aromas of soap, brisk herbs, and shaving cream emanating the traditional corner barbershop. To enliven the woody, bracingly green notes, Eau de Minthé sprinkles the structure with the aromatic freshness of the mint, thus accentuating its lively, floral notes of geranium that lurk beneath the canopy of patchouli. And speaking of patchouli, no fougère would be complete without the rugged, earthy woodiness of this particular plant, with its aroma of freshly turned earth and fresh loam. Eau de Minthé is a Greek vision of a deeply damp, green forest that fills the air with its vibrant freshness. Beautiful for either a man or a woman.
