Diptyque - Tempo
In the 1960s, there was a new shape in the air: patchouli. It stood for freedom, new spirituality, and closeness to nature, symbolizing at the same time the hope of a whole generation for a better future. Tempo pays homage to this most iconic of fragrance materials but in a wholly contemporary way that's far removed from all its hippyish connotations of sweetness.
In Tempo, three distinct patchouli extracts from Givaudan's patchouli plantation/project on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi are blended together, their nuances ranging from woody-sexy to earthy-beguiling. Carried aloft by the bright, watery sharpness of violet leaves, and given a herbal lightness by clary sage and mate, Tempo shows extraordinary refinement on the skin.
The raw materials given prominence in Tempo are as follows: Patchouli Coeur (fine-grained and translucent), Patchouli Oil (woody, tobacco notes), Patchouli Absolu (camphor, moss) - all three patchouli extracts being sustainably grown and ethically sourced on Givaudan's project on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. Other important raw materials used in the composition include mate (grassy, ??tobacco notes), and clary sage (aromatic), both of which emphasize the dry, herbal, aromatic facets of the patchouli.
Notes: bergamot, pink pepper, violet leaf, clary sage, patchouli and mate.
