Parfums MDCI - Painters and Perfumers - Bleu Satin
Distinguished. Radiant. Lively.
Developed by perfumer Cécile Zarokian and inspired by Thomas Gainsborough's famous oil painting "The Blue Boy", Bleu Satin is a bright, fresh, and radiant fruity fragrance intended primarily for men. Cécile Zarokian has created a subtle masterpiece of contemporary perfumery. The fragrance plays around the three things that has made the boy in blue so unique over the centuries: the color of the boy's gorgeous clothes, his expression, and the deep, dark contrast of the background.
Bleu Satin opens with an exuberant and sparkling brocade of juicy bergamot and electric green notes, fused over a deliciously fruity heart consisting of intoxicating cassis and mouthwateringly fresh, pink watermelon set against a backdrop of hypnotically lush jasmine - fresh and elegant in equal measure. The fruity lightness of the melon is grounded by the bitter-sweet, slightly earthy aroma of blackcurrant, symbolizing the fascination of the facial expression of the boy: allegedly innocent and formal, yet concealed behind a slight smile and black eyes, the irrepressible sparkle of a deeply mischievous character.
A foundation of gently-spiced leather is created by the knitting together of thousands of red-gold saffron threads in the oriental manner. The nuance of noble woods provides a striking backdrop, which emphasizes the proud, courtly and magnificent silhouette of the composition all the more. What remains is an expression of modern vitality, speaking to grandeur as well as to an unclouded self-confidence.
