Versatile Paris - Gueule de Bois
The morning after the night: heavy smoke of a spent candle, the rim of an empty rum glass, oriental spices casting shadows over warm wood. Gueule de Bois – literally « wood face », the French word for a hangover. Coralie Frébourg translates that feeling between ambient and amber into a velvety, spiced after-party fragrance.
The Fragrance:
The opening struts in with dark rum and black pepper – direct, spicy, with a flicker of fading citrus. At the heart, incense burns beside fine rose ketones over a velvety amber accord, ambery and mildly animalic. The base is the core: sandalwood and Atlas cedar, wrapped in warm vanillin and coumarin – deeply woody, suave and long-lasting, an embrace that still clings to your clothes the next morning.
