In Ethiopia’s Afar Triangle rises Ertá Alé, the “smoking mountain” – a shield volcano cradling one of the world’s few permanently active lava lakes, surrounded by shimmering salt flats and dark basalt. For AZYA, it stands for origin and transformation. Ertá Alé 2, the blue chapter of the trilogy, is devoted to the element of water: a crater lake in the first light of morning, clear, reflective and quietly unfathomable.

Ocean notes, samphire and cardamom open with a vibrant, salty-green freshness, lifted by a touch of aldehydes and incense.
