With Tuberosa, Carthusia pays tribute to the languid, buttery sensuality of the legendary tuberose and invites us all on a voyage of discovery to the land of the quintessentially Italian floriental.
Naturally, tuberose takes the reins in this heady eau de parfum, its turbulent sensuality highlighted not by the usual nocturnal nightshade tones but by the bright, glittering light of Capri island itself. A luminous ylang bathes the tuberose in a veil of buttery, yellow floral bliss, while an aromatic pairing of elemi resin and cinnamon laces the composition with an incensey depth usually missing from white tropical floral fragrances. Intensive and floral, but now also open, bright, uplifting - in the style of Carthusia, but unusually, without relying on citrus notes to lift the florals.
Lifted by the bright ylang and barely smoky, lemony spicy resin facet, the tuberose achieves an airborne lightness and charm that feels very original, and yet also tasteful, elegant, and full of joie de vivre. Notes of creamy plum, rose and white flowers subtly highlight and enrich the tuberose, pulling it down into a deep, warm oriental featherbed of vetiver, vanilla, Ambroxan and musk for a sensual, skin-like finish.
