The versatile designer wanted to create a fragrance that would be as strong and long-lasting as his fashion creations. He achieved this with "Parfum de Peau", which was a huge success when it was released in 1986. The chypre fragrance is a classic and is known for its unique ability to develop differently on each person's skin, as well as for its long-lasting scent. Claude Montana, the designer, described it as an "olfactory tattoo" that melts into the skin. Moreover, the design of the flacon with its spiral-shaped levels of cut frosted glass resembles a modern staircase-like sculpture.
