Diptyque Eau Rihla – Eau de Parfum
With Eau Rihla, Diptyque invites you on an olfactory journey. "Rihla" is Arabic for "journey" — and like a travel diary, the fragrance recounts the chronicle of a long trek along the routes of the Orient. Launched in 2021 for the Maison's 60th anniversary, it is dedicated to the legendary 14th-century explorer Ibn Battuta. Perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin drew inspiration from the scent of a leather-bound sketchbook belonging to Diptyque co-founder Desmond Knox-Leet and a well-worn travel trunk.
The opening sparkles with juicy raspberry, precious saffron and lively pink pepper. At its heart, a supple leather accord unfolds, wrapped in powdery, elegant iris and warm Atlas cedar. In the base, vanilla and musk settle into a velvety, sensual veil on the skin — warm, spicy and remarkably deep.
Eau Rihla is an amber-woody leather fragrance for women and men: bold yet softened by fruit, with above-average longevity and sillage. The dark bottle with its golden medallion — engraved with a desert landscape and caravan — turns every spray into a small departure for the East.
