A very special limited edition, Southern Bloom takes as its inspiration the strange brown flower known as boronia, which blooms only briefly each year in September on Australia's southernmost island, Bruny, which lies off the coast of Tasmania. Once sold out, the fragrance cannot be produced again until a new batch of boronia absolute is obtained: this is slow perfume at its best. Boronia absolute has a very distinctive aroma: it smells sweet and nectarous, like a juicy white floral, but also features a warm, nutty woody aroma profile that's just as important. It smells intoxicating and unusual. It is one of the most expensive raw materials in perfumery due to its rarity, geographical inaccessibility, and extremely short growing season.
