Pierre Guillaume Paris - PG25 - Indochine
Family: Oriental, spicy, amber, powdery
Imagine this: it is the year 1920 and you are drifting along the Mekong Delta on a pleasure boat. The sun has just set, and you are bathed in a warm, honeyed halo of light. All around you - serenity, a slow-moving river, and a dusk fast approaching. A slight wistfulness fills you heart - a dream of Indochina and the colonies that are now lost to you forever.
WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE
As a fragrance dedicated to the former colonies of Indochine, it focuses on notes and ingredients that are indigenous to the area, such as Siam benzoin, Cambodian pepper, Burmese thanaka wood, and Laotian honey. At the heart of this stunning composition is Siam benzoin resin, which is warm with cinnamon notes, vanillic, and creamy-powdery in texture. It lends the perfume a beating pulse of warm, slightly milky smoke. Cambodian pepper adds a piquant, spicy edge to the smoke, and the whole thing is warmed slowly in a crème of thanaka wood, milky-green cardamom, and sticky, dark honey. The overall effect is of slightly spicy, peppery woods over a milky, almost gourmand base - dark and light elements mixed together as only Pierre Guillaume knows how. Soft and seductive, this is the fragrance to wear when you want to give flight to your most exotic daydreams.
