Hypnotic and mysterious, Santal du Pacifique unfolds a velvet cloth rich with warm and creamy woody notes that sends a humming cloud of sweetness into the air. The gentle and yet intoxicating chords of a sandalwood instrument sing out clearly, softened around the flanks by wistful floral notes, chief among them the grey, powdery, and refined tones of a very fine orris butter. The result is warm and full-bodied, but with a chill backbone of iris that keeps the sweetness in check.
