Perris Monte Carlo - Black Collection - Santal du Pacifique
They still exist, you know, those islands of pristine paradise that live in our dreams and our imagination. Look hard enough in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and you will find little pockets left of the original Garden of Eden, exotic islands teeming with all types of flora and fauna, most prized among them the sandalwood tree. Its characteristic aroma of musky, raw creaminess with a trace of smoke is addictive, and is what makes this special tree so heavily in demand throughout the world. Use of sandalwood in devotional incense ceremonies spread quickly through China, India and South America. In India, in particular, sandalwood is believed to be a truly spiritual medium through which one may achieve higher levels of enlightenment.
For Santal du Pacifique, wood from the wild and original sandalwood trees in the Pacific Islands was used. The topnote of Santal du Pacifique is a fresh, botanical note of a flower bud about to burst into full bloom under a hot sun, a delightfully floral opening that leads into a warm, woody, slightly creamy heart.
