Puredistance - Sheiduna
Sheiduna is the result of close collaboration between Puredistance founder Jan Ewoud Vos and the Parisian master perfumer Cécile Zarokian. It was the passion for authenticity and excellence that drove the pair to achieve the new heights reached with Sheiduna. Incredibly rich at 27% pure perfume oils, Sheiduna is a fragrance whose very name encompasses the idea of the eternal feminine (Shei = she) coupled with the shape of sand dunes, which as the author of The English Patient pointed out mimics the sinuous curve of a woman's back (Duna - dunes).
The first true oriental in the line, Sheiduna is a shimmering, gold-tipped oriental that vibrates a basso fundo of citrus, smoke, and incense that encircle a hot carnation note that sets the senses on fire. Out of the incense, blackcurrants, and clove emerges a rich, red rose, its pulsating presence taking over the heart of the fragrance and sending out its siren call to lovers of the original Lyric for Women, Opium, and Cinnabar. In the base, smoky, bitter myrrh joins with earthy patchouli, silky resins, and creamy, musky vanilla to supply an oriental finish that soothes rather than jars.
Sheiduna is, as Puredistance themselves say, "a rich and intense fragrance inspired by the panoramic views and feel of golden sand dunes in the desert during sunset - soft, female curves changing from deep gold to warm, orangey red - embodying a promise of sensual comfort and silent seduction". We think it is simply perfect.
