Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle - The Moon
A "Desert Gem" composed by Julien Rasquinet
Queen of the night. The moon speaks to lovers everywhere: their poetry and dreams forever move to her rhythm like the tide, loyal to her mystery. Oud commands a sea of patchouli and sandalwood, bound by amber and tinted by a setting sun of violet, rose and raspberry. Moonlit confessions.
THE SCENT
Celestial romance. The moon plays a leading role in conducting the rhythm of life in the Middle East, her ethereal appearance hailing the beginning and end of all festivity. Yet in Arabic, invoking the moon is also an allusion to romance - 'my moon'; an adoringly grandiose term for one's beloved that speaks of beauty and eternal devotion.
Exuding a warm, opulent quality, rose oud and frankincense meet a surprising abundance of ripe red berries. In subtle evocation of the fruit-flavoured shisha enjoyed across the region, the profusion of redcurrant and raspberry notes adds sweetness and colour.
Experience this fragrance and let yourself be carried away by an oud symphony that couldn't be more virtuoso. A masterpiece composed by Julien Rasquinet. An expression of perfected perfume art.
THE PERFUMER
A potent new moon. Following a chance encounter with the legendary Pierre Bourdon, Julien Rasquinet became the legendary perfumer's last disciple. Three years of training by the master taught him his trade and helped him develop his poetic soul. Passionate about theatre, Julien Rasquinet is a natural storyteller. For him, composing a perfume is similar to writing a play in several acts. Deeply empathic, he likes to imagine what people wearing his creations experience. He spent four years in Dubai growing as a perfumer and creating magnificent contemporary Middle Eastern perfumes.
