Perris Montecarlo - Black Collection - Cacao Aztèque
The Aztecs were the first to discover the cocoa beans and their qualities, and it was they who spread the fame of this humble-looking bean throughout the world. The cocoa bean was considered a gift of the god of wisdom, Quetzalcoati. The Aztecs believed that eating the brown beans gave man power and wisdom. It would be remiss of us not to at least mention the fact that the cocoa bean has long been feted as an effective aphrodisiac ...
THE SCENT
Cacao Aztèque wraps the cocoa bean in a cloak of delicate spices, the black pepper, pink pepper, and cardamom kissing the dark chocolate awake and keeping it lively. A dash of rum is added for illicit warmth, and the cosy feel of drinking delicious boozy chocolate concoctions before a roaring fire when the cold weather draws in.
Once the hit of spiced, boozy chocolate dies back a little, the nose is astonished to find a heart of creamy tropical flowers - a voluptuous and sensual surprise. The milk chocolate-like orchid flower and creamy, coconutty tuberose seem like natural partners for the spicy chocolate. In the drydown, a bed of silky, powdery sandalwood and sweet suede is a soft, delicious ending to a scent that is itself almost edible. A gourmand floral with a bitter chocolate depth - perfect for cool weather when you want to feel yourself surrounded by only cosy, sweet aromas.
