Diptyque - 34 Boulevard Saint Germain - EdP
The new Eau de Parfum from the TRENTE-QUATRE collection! An eclectic fragrance of the purest quality for men and women. An enveloping, timelessly elegant, spicy and warm creation. Traditional yet contemporary. Fresh and fusing. An olfactory invitation to the heart and world of Diptyque! The new Eau de Parfum 34 BOULEVARD SAINT GERMAIN is an ode to Diptyque's first boutique on Boulevard Saint Germain no. 34 in Paris, opened in 1961. The unique ambience and the fascinating aura of this legendary address are reflected in this new composition by Olivier Pescheux. The new Eau de Parfum emerges as more concise and deeper, somehow golden, more radiant and sensual than all the predecessors of the line 34 BOULEVARD SAINT GERMAIN.
The fragrance reveals its precious essence, we close our eyes, and find ourselves back in the rooms of that boutique where everything began, still attracting Diptyque lovers from all over the world. The many bottles, candles and lanterns - gracefully placed on the boutique shelves - vintage pieces of furniture and hidden treasures exude an irresistible magnetism. The summer is drawing to a close and Paris is fashioned in the glorious atmosphere of an unforgettable Indian Summer - or as the French name it - été indien! The afternoon sun is shining through the shop windows. The warming light is covering the bright, polished wood of the consoles, the counters and shelves, radiating over the venerable showcases in which crystal bottles begin to glisten, wrapping the entire space into a soft, golden light!
The Eau de Parfum is built around this inimitable fragrance aura. Based on an exceptional Australian sandalwood of Indian origin, the composition captivates us with its intense velvety and warmth. Vanilla from Madagascar, which also occurs in the Eau de Toilette, even reinforces this streak; Tonka bean in combination with almond - a slightly spicy chord with hints of cinnamon and clove - gives the fragrance a strong, almost lascivious aura and a subtle oriental flair, reminding us of that bazaar character that has become the cornerstone of boutique 34 Saint Germain. A concept born out of the simple principle of pleasure, presenting the most wonderful objects and curiosities, which the visitors did not know they had always wanted to posess, before entering 'Le Bazar du 34' - as the shop was named by the residents of the neighbourhood.
A pinch of "Pepperwood"-pepper and a strong handful of pink berries provide both spiciness and freshness and create an enveloping and complementary contrast that harmoniously completes the creation.
The essence is brought together in an elegant smoked glass bottle with a heavy base, crowned by black bakelite and carefully embedded in a box with a black and white basile pattern: a special geometric design by Diptyque co-founder Christiane Gautrot from 1963 and thus a homage to the symbolic heritage and the history of the Maison.
