Brand Portrait: YBRY Paris
Founded in Paris in 1925 by Simon Jaroslawski, YBRY was one of the boldest luxury houses of its era: fragrances staged as "the most expensive in the world," in flacons created with Baccarat and Lalique — flat, square crystal bottles in gemstone colours with a golden cube stopper set at an angle on one corner, regarded even then as Art Deco art objects in their own right. The Great Depression cut the story short; by 1933 the house had vanished from France.
A century later, in 2025, YBRY Paris is revived under Habib Al-Sowaidi — not a mere reconstruction, but the historic idea recast for the present day. The new collection comprises seven fragrances, each devoted to a gemstone: Rubis, Émeraude, Améthyste, Ambre, Moissanite, Quartz Rose and Turquoise. Composed by renowned perfumers — among them Anne Flipo, Bruno Jovanovic, Alex Lee and Violaine Collas — every creation follows one guiding idea: perfume as a jewel, precious, artful, unmistakable. The iconic flacon returns, turning each fragrance into a jewel on the Dresser.
