Ulrich Lang New York - Apsu
"APSU's scent is a nod to a simpler lifestyle ? a contrast to today's complex world. APSU grabs your attention instantly with its bright blend of lush green notes drenched in clear water."
Ulrich Lang
Ulrich Lang has a special flair for uniting minimalism with freshness. This simplicity is reflected in the perfume bottle for APSU, featuring a single palm leaf as photographed by the New York photographer, Matthew Porter. There are works of art for those looking for scents to along with the soundtrack of life, not to stick out and make a statement. These scents are unobtrusive and quiet. A perfect balm to the soul in this busy world we inhabit.
The name APSU comes from mythology surrounding the ancient Babylonian seals, and means "fresh water of the cosmos", referring to the primordial ocean at the center of the earth and the source of all life force.
A stingingly sharp, almost mouthwatering green topnote opens the scent, speaking of leafy coriander, watery violet leaf, and unripe bergamot. These essences tingle and fizz in the mouth, before settling down into a delicate heart of white tea, jasmine, water lilies, and iris. Floral and tannic, the heart appears submerged in cool, green water that swell the cells of the flowers. The scent finishes in a sensual, silky musk and amber that wrap around the cooler heart notes and add a touch of cashmere-like coziness. A gentle milky white scent, this is perfect for moments of self-reflection and tenderness. A buffer of sorts against the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
