Zoologist - Civet
The heat of the day is still palpable, but as dusk settles over the tops of the tropical forest, a sweeping change takes place. The diurnal life goes to rest, but those who have been sleeping now stretch their limbs. Already, trained eyes can make out the characteristic fur markings of the civet cat. Well camouflaged, it moves silently between lush blossoms and ripe coffee berries through the mossy damp forest. With its own musky scent, the little sneaky cat unmistakably marks its territory and roams the night as a graceful predator.
The fragrance:
Inscrutable and dark, perfumer Shelley Waddington creates Zoologists Civet in the style of the chypre perfumes of yesteryear. Civet, once a precious and mysterious ingredient, can now be artificially recreated - but its enigmatic character remains unchanged. Zoologist's fragrance opens spicy-floral with a citrusy melange of bergamot, lemon and orange alongside black pepper and tarragon. Floating floral notes spread to a lush centre where frangipani, carnation and heliotrope join hyacinth, lime blossom, tuberose and ylang ylang. Intense coffee notes permeate the composition and follow its path towards an intense base that blends leather and moss with soft vanilla and the unmistakable scent of synthetic civet musk. Accompanied by the woody sound of precious woods and resins, Civet unfolds its delightfully untamed, animalic sound. Waddington's energetic fragrance is encased in Zoologist's classic bottle. It is adorned with a portrait of a civet cat with human features, surrounded by golden accents.
