Founded by famed Harley Street cosmetic surgeon Dr. Yannis Alexandrides MD, 111Skin aims to take the best practices and science developed at the Harley Street clinic straight to the client at home. The brand bases much of its formulae around its revolutionary and proprietary NAC Y2, a substance made from N-acetylcysteine (NAC), the N-acetyl derivative of amino acid L-cysteine (the precursor for glutathione ? an important antioxidant which is produced by the body), Ascorbyl Phosphate, a stable Vitamin C derivative and antioxidant, and finally, Aesculus hippocastum extract, whose active ingredient is Escin, an antioxidant and vasoprotector. After seeing the effects of soaking a sponge in just NAC, Dr. Yannis collaborated with space scientists to develop the new and improved formula, NAC Y2. It became the principle ingredient in the original 111SKIN product, the Y Theorem Repair Serum, and then throughout the entire Reparative range.
