Mystikum - Saddles of the Silk Road

The Silk Road is a historical monument - a myth for eternity: a network of paths and trade routes spanning thousands of kilometers that once reached from East Asia to the Mediterranean and connected the Orient with the Occident over many centuries.

Countless valuable goods such as silk, furs and spices, gold, silver and precious stones, ceramics, glass and porcelain were transported by large caravans along the trade routes - but also stories and experiences, knowledge and entire philosophies spread along the routes of the Silk Road.

The fragrance

When the caravan sets off, it is loaded with precious oud, saffron and walnuts. The supple leather of the heart note is reminiscent of the saddles of the Silk Road that gave the perfume its name. Along the way, dark cocoa, precious resins, mystical patchouli and noble woods are added.

With the oriental-woody perfume composition Saddles of the Silk Road, perfumer Ralf Schwieger delves deep into the fascinating legend of the Silk Road. The fragrance takes us on a journey into a time long past, when ideas, dreams and entire empires were carried to distant parts of the world on the saddles of caravans...

The bottle

The flacons of the Mystikum collection are unmistakably inspired by the bottle design of the original Mystikum perfume launched in 1910, which was a collaboration between designers Erich Blankenburg, Fritz Helmuth Ehmcke and Willy Schwerdtner. What is characteristic is the stele-like cap, reminiscent of a towering monolith, which also crowned the historic Mystikum perfume.

With their elegant Art Deco lines and shades inspired by various gemstones, the Mystikum bottles reflect the elegance and nobility of a bygone era - and revive their unique magic.
