Floris London - Platinum 22
In 2022, the British nation celebrated the 70th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen's platinum jubilee was celebrated with lavish festivities, concerts and parades.
A special perfume was also dedicated to this happy royal occasion: Platinum 22 - created by Floris, the long-time purveyor to the royal court.
The fragrance
Platinum 22 is inspired by the beautiful gardens that surround the royal residences - while reflecting 70 years of Queen Elizabeth's faithful service.
The perfume opens with a cool note of iris, accompanied by the calming scent of oats and a fruity sparkle of black currant and lime. Gradually, the radiant heart notes emerge: a luscious rose, violet leaves, clary sage, a hint of spicy black pepper and - in reference to the Queen's traditional tea garden parties - black tea. With a warm, woody base with aromas of cedar, soft amber, musk and tonka bean, Platinum 22 has a truly majestic dry-down.
"It has been", the perfume house Floris says, "a very great honour and a privilege for our perfumery team to work on this unique, once in a lifetime project of creating the special fragrance to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We have created fragrances to commemorate some of Her Majesty's major milestones in the past and have always enjoyed drawing inspiration from the wealth of uplifting experiences and occasions that The Queen has experienced throughout her remarkable reign."
