No matter how barren and inhospitable a sandy desert may be, it is still a place full of magic and poetry: a magnificent ocean of sand and solitude that overwhelms and captivates the senses; with billowing sand hills, shimmering illusions in sun-hot air - and the eternally mystical whisper of the desert wind.

The fragrance

The Floriental fragrance Tears on Mystic Sands (perfumer: Mark Buxton) is like a refreshing oasis under the scorching heat of the desert sun. Delicious fruits thrive in that oasis: lychee, bergamot and tangerines tempt hikers thirsting for refreshment from the vastness of the great desert.

In the heart of the oasis, a wonderful flower garden blooms - on a soil from which mysterious aromas of musk and cypriol, vanilla and leather, guaiac and sandalwood emerge. Meanwhile, heavenly incense rises up between magnificent roses, irises and freesias - accompanied by mystical wafts of noble oud...

The bottle

The flacons of the Mystikum collection are unmistakably inspired by the bottle design of the original Mystikum perfume launched in 1910, which was a collaboration between designers Erich Blankenburg, Fritz Helmuth Ehmcke and Willy Schwerdtner. What is characteristic is the stele-like cap, reminiscent of a towering monolith, which also crowned the historic Mystikum perfume.

With their elegant Art Deco lines and shades inspired by various gemstones, the Mystikum bottles reflect the elegance and nobility of a bygone era - and revive their unique magic.
