Pantomime - Act 2
The first rays of sunrise reflect on the surface of the water. As the sky slowly changes colour from orange to blue, the glassy lake reflects its surroundings in the stillness of the morning. With steady strokes, a rower begins to plough through the water and the stillness in equal measure. He glides across the lake in his boat, his breath and technique in harmony with a well-rehearsed rhythm. His morning ritual will later take him back to the New Haven rowing club. It's 6.45 a.m. and he starts the day refreshed and full of energy.
